Facial Veins
Facial veins are small veins in the skin and they have the appearance of thin red or blue lines in the skin.
Thread veins on the face are extremely common, however, they do not necessarily cause any symptoms
but because they are so visible many people dislike their appearance.
There are a number of causes including overexposure to the sun, drastic changes in weather, excessive alcohol consumption, hormonal changes such as pregnancy, sudden changes in pressure such as severe vomiting or sneezing, or they may simply be genetic.
We offer three treatment solutions depending on the severity and location of the thread veins:
Short Wave Diathermy uses a high-frequency alternating current to generate heat, effectively closing off the vein causing it to fade and eventually disappear
Intense Pulse Light Laser Therapy, is effective on broken blood vessels on face treatment on the
nose and other areas of the face. Visible blood vessels
are removed by light absorbed by the blood, which destroys the vessel.
After some time, the vessel disappears, restoring the skin's natural
appearance.
Sclerotherapy, injections of mild sclerosant, can also occasionally be used to treat facial veins.
